Your subconscious doesn't process the word not. It runs on pictures, symbols, and sensations. Speaking to it to help you move forward is its own language. Mastering this language can help you speak to yourself powerfully to get you to your next goal step, or simply just avoid repeating the same mistakes over and over. So when you say, don't eat that cake, it skips the don't, and instantly visualizes. Cake, which means it's already following your command, just not the way you intended. Let's try something right now. Don't think of a pink elephant. What popped in your mind? A pink elephant, right? that's because your subconscious needs to picture something in order to understand it. And it really doesn't get negation. So when you tell yourself things like, don't be anxious. I don't wanna be like my mother, I don't wanna fail, don't mess this up. You're subconscious hears and acts on: be anxious. I want to be like my mother. I want to fail and mess this up. And it responds accordingly. Here's the fix. Don't tell your brain what not to do. Wow. That's just a lot of nots, right? Tell it what to do instead. Use imagery. Use symbols. Use feeling based language. So instead of don't be anxious, try this. I'm grounded to the center of the earth. Some powerful ways to say, I don't want this again, is to say, my past is in my rear view mirror. I'm moving forward with new goals and even I'm so over it. These phrases give your subconscious a clear visual roadmap to follow. The way to speak to the subconscious is important for all of us. And for those of us who are empaths. Intuitives, highly sensitive people or healers, This matters even more because of our sensitivity. Because your thoughts don't just affect your mind. They shape your energy field, and we just happen to be keenly aware of it, to the point of it being painful. Every time you repeat a low vibe, command, even by accident, you imprint that vibration into your field. It's why shifting your language on purpose can be so powerful in helping you move forward in the direction you want to go, not where you don't want to go. Okay? A whole bunch of nots again. Speak in visuals to guide the subconscious to clean up your field. so the next time you catch yourself saying, don't do it. Pause, reframe, speak in the language your subconscious understands because the way you talk to yourself is the energy you live in. And that's why affirmations that work are in the present and in the positive. They also must be believable or made to be believable, and that's the subject of another podcast altogether.
